Social media – Some controversial thoughts

Is there a measurement for the amount of communication in the world?

No, but if it would exist – does a higher degree of communication lead to a better economy? Or vice versa does a low degree of (social media) communication lead to more happy people? More and more we see that also the kind of communication is decisive – as an example face to face or via social media.

Communication – fundamental for life

From Freud to Maslow (hierarchy of needs) almost all of psychology is probably based on people communicating! Let's be clear - never in history has there been a greater likelihood of loneliness and isolation than today. The whole psychology shifts from personal contact to an illustration on a hand-sized screen that makes you feel loved. And the future doesn't look rosy in this regard. Metaverse seems to be around the corner.

One might think that in a world with perfect access to all information, people would be more educated and better informed, but in the hierarchy of social media are images, gimmicks and games way ahead, blocking the opportunity to really achieve higher knowledge and education.

You'll wonder, "Why do people that are developing a new social medium start criticizing it?" – Are they crazy?

No we are not crazy but we want to let you know that at Penewo we are aware of the above facts and think we have some responsibility here.

We want to bring people together - personally in relation to diverse areas of interest. If we can improve face-to-face human contact, then we've done a great job.

Let us start to use our still young information age to support us in our effort to be human, to interact and support us in our effort to create a fulfilled life. We connect people and business – that is our job.

We are PENEWO. PE stands for PEOPLE and NEWO stands for NETWORK and we hope that our network improves the life of people.
